본 연구는 1990년 이후 25년 동안 한국과 일본, 그리고 ASEAN간에 확산되고 있는 경제협력 강화와 이에 따른 산업 및 무역의 글로벌화 과정에서, 한국과 일본의 대 ASEAN 무역의존구조가 어떻게 변화하고 있으며, 이러한 변화는 어떠한 구조적 요인에 기인하고 있는가에 중점을 두고 실증분석을 전개하였다. 분석방법은 국제산업연관모형의 국제기술분업도(ITS)지수를 도입하고 있다. 분석결과, 한국과 일본, ASEAN간의 무역의존도는 지속적으로 높아지고 있는 것으로 관찰되었다. 특히 ASEAN의 경우, 대한국 의존도는 계속 상승하고 있으나, 대일본 의존도는 꾸준히 하락하고 있으며, 이러한 의존구조 변화는 ASEAN의 대한국 무역적자 확대와 대일본 무역불균형 개선에 기여하고 있는 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 그리고 한국, 일본, ASEAN간의 의존도 수준 차이는 생산기술의 차이와 중간재수입 의존도의 차이라는 구조적 요인에 의해 야기되고 있는 것으로 나타나, 이들 양자 간 경제협력 확대에 따른 교역 증대는 상호간의 산업 및 무역 의존관계를 심화시키는 원인으로 작용하고 있음이 확인되었다.

This study analyzes the changes in the trade dependency structure between Korea, Japan and ASEAN from 1990 to 2015, and then analyzes the reasons why the interdependence structure has changed. The analytical method was developed by International Technological Specialization (ITS) of international input-output Analysis Model. As a result of the analysis, trade dependence between Korea, Japan and ASEAN is observed to be continuously increasing. In particular, ASEAN's dependence on Korea continues to rise, but it continues to decline for Japan, and this structural feature can be interpreted as having little impact on the expansion of the trade deficit with Japan and the improvement of trade imbalance with Japan. And the dependency level of Korea, Japan, and ASEAN was found to be largely due to structural factors such as differences in Manufacturing Technological and Intermediate Input Coefficient. It has been confirmed that the increase in trade with the expansion of economic cooperation between Korea, Japan and ASEAN is causing deepening of mutual industrial and trade dependence.
