이 연구는 한반도 통일을 대비한 통합국토정비 정책방향을 제시하고 있다. 여기에서 제시한 정책전략들은, 통일이 국토의 일체성을 확보하고 동북아시아 경제권에서 한반도의 위상을 강화하는 것이 되어야 한다는 것을 전제로 마련되었으며. 그 골자는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 통합국토정비는 한반도가 해양으로 펼쳐나갈 수 있는 개방적 체제로 이루어져야 한다. 둘째, 균형발전을 위한 국토의 합리적 역할분담과 통일국토를 이굘 수 있는 중심권의 개발이 이루어져야 한다. 셋째, 국토의 내륙과 해안을 연결시키는 공간구조를 형성해야 한다. 네째, 환경 친화적인 국토관리가 되어야 한다. 첨가하여, 이 연구는 통일이 가져올 예기치 못한 위기에 대비한 국토관리방안과 북한지역 토지에 대한 효율적인 관리제도의 조기정착에 대한 중요성을 강조하고 있다.

This study provides strategies for national land management for the unification of Korean peninsula in preparation. Such strategies should focus on achieving a body of the peninsula and reinforcing the position of Korea in the Fast Asia economic block. The followings are suggested as the most important constituents of the proposed strategies for national land management. First, there must be national land management to expand this campy toward oceans. Second, there should be equity between the different regions throughout the whole country, at the same tires as a central area to lead the unified nation is developed. Third, national spatial structure to conned inland to coastal areas must be developed. Finally, the country must be managed in a environmentally sound and sustainable manner. Additionally, this paper emphasizes plans to deal with unexpected emergencies from unification, and the importance of the early formulation of an advisable land system for North Korea.
