This article is about the meaning of Death in In-Hwan Park`s poetry. In-Hwan Park(1926-1956) who lived a short life but who went through a turbulent period experiencing liberation and 6ㆍ25. Being troubled by disorder and uncertainty right after liberation, the poet writes various types of death. And the poet beings to write existential poems after the war dealing with life, death, fear, and hopelessness. From this time to the end death and god continue to be common subjects by the poet. Exploration of mind in existentialism is the characteristic of 1950`s. Reviewing the poet`s works, we find that the more abstruse the poems become and that the more the poet gets attentive to his feeling, the easier the poems become. It is ironic that the poet produces more mature poems when he is deeply disturbed by hopelessness rather than is motivated by aspiration.
