SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) is adopted to develop a monitoring and control system for manufacturing facilities. An MIB(Management Information Base) which represents the data structures for the control parameters and status . of the facilities is defined. Based on the MIB, monitoring and control agents are developed. SNMP agent sends a status data of machines to SNMP manager or receives a control data. Clients can access to get or request status data of facilities and even change the control parameters if allowed by the SNMP manager.
