우리 나라에서의 행정학의 교육수요를 파악해 본 결과 대학의 행정학 전공교육수요는 점차 줄어드는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 이러한 현상은 4년제 대학보다 2년제 대학에서 더욱 두드러진 현상이라고 할 수 있다. 그리고 경기도 공무원들을 대상으로 조사한 결과 행정학 지식은 공무원 업무수행에 도움이 된다고 긍정적인 결과를 보이고 있으며, 행정학교육이 이론보다는 실무에 치중해야 한다는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 응답자들은 행정학교육 중 일반행정분야, 분야별 행정, 정책분야, 행정학 기초분야의 순으로 업무에 도움이 되며, 같은 순서대로 교과목의 개선을 요구하고 있다. 새로운 과목에 대한 선호는 환경행정론, 행정윤리론, 민주협상론 등을 선호하는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 직급에 따라 다소 다르게 나타나 직급에 따라 교육수요도 다론 것으로 파악된다. 이러한 행정학에 대한 교육수요감소와 새로운 교육수요에 대응하기 위하여 행정학의 교육 및 연구차원에서 많은 노력이 있어야 할 것이다.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the educational demand for Public Administration in Korea. Recently the educational demand for Public Administration in Korea have been decreased at universities and colleges. The results of this study on Kyonggi province officials in Korea show the positive effects. They indicate that Public Administration Science assist their jobs and the education of Public Administration should be changed from theory-oriented to work-oriented. They also suggest that the new curriculum should include the lectures-environment protection, public ethic, negotiation, etc. According to the new educational demand of Public Administration, we have to supply the new educational service of Public Administration.
