본 논문은 토지이용의 적합성분석을 위한 개념적 모형의 정립을 목적으로 한다. 최근의 GIS를 활용한 관련 연구들은 대부분 그 분석의 전체적인 문제를 다루기보다는 특정방법에 대한 비교연구이거나 사례의 확장이었다. 토지적합성 분석에 있어 중요한 이슈는 절차적인 것과 방법적인 것인데 문제는 이 두 가지가 함께 고려되어야 한다는 것이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존의 연구에 대한 리뷰를 통하여 분석이 행해지는 절차적인 문제와 그 과정에서 검토되어야 할 7가지 방법론적인 검토 (평가기준선정, 변수의 표준화, 변수의 스케일, 스크리닝, 가중치, 대안의 평가, 기타) 를 함께 고려하는 개념적인 분석모형의 정립을 시도하였다. 제시된 개념적 모형은 도시기본계획의 작성시에 매우 유용할 수 있을 것이며, 그에 대한 적용사례는 다른 논문에서 검증하여 보도록 한다.

This study aims to develop a conceptual model for the land use suitability analysis. Most studies have focused on the methodological issues of the analysis, not a whole process but a part of it. The issues regarding the land use suitability analysis are both matters of process and methods, since it deals with the real planning problems. Thus, we review recent studies in this area and summarize the methodological issues in 7 categories (evaluation criteria, standardization of variables, scale of variables, screening, weighting, evaluation methods among alternatives, and others) and their procedural considerations. The proposed conceptual model has two folds: procedural model and corresponding methodological considerations. Its application study will be presented in a separate paper.
