Abstract. Until recently the vast majority of research on international joint venture(IJV) performance has been conducted in relation to IJVs from DCs in other DCs or in LDCs. This study tried to identify determinants of superior performance in IJVs in Korea, an Asian NIC, by relating equity ownership, competitive advantages, resources complementarity, commitment, and nationality to IJV performance. The results suggest that different measures of performance are explained by different variables.
