Development of Scheduling System for PCM Line in Cold Rolling Mills

The purpose of this research is to develop a scheduling system for FCM (Pickling and Cold Rolling Mill) Line in Cold Rolling Mill. The proposed scheduling system provides good operation schedules satisfying all the constraints imposed on FCM Line and thus maintaining best operating conditions. Based on CSP (Constraint Satisfaction Problem) technique in artificial intelligence, some appropriate algorithms are designed and developed. Performance tests show that the proposed scheduling system outperforms human operators in case of minimizing the thickness differences between two adjacent coils.
