This paper aims to correct an accepted interpretation on the `Song of a Turtle` in the history of the country Garak in the Samguk-yusa. Many scholars hold that the song is a mythological story. That kind of view is based on the idea that the turtle is a god symbol of a god. Ji-hong Park attempts to prove the turtle to a `kem` meaning a god taking `kemi` from a folk song of a spider. But the present study tries to construe the song linguistically. First we demonstrate that Park`s interpretation on the song of a spider is mistaken. And then we compare the `Song of a Turtle` with the `Song of the Sea` in the Samguk-yusa, and approach it in linguistic terms.
