Purpose: This research aims to investigate the correlation of the perceived health status with the somatic symptoms, family related stress, spousal support and sexual satisfaction in the middle aged women. Methods: The number of subjects in this study were 238 middle aged women who lived with their husbands, in the surburbs of Seoul and in Mokpo. The data were collected using questionnaires. Data analysis was done by SAS, t-test, ANOVA. Scheff? test and the Pearson`s Correlation Coefficient. Results: 1. The degree of the perceived health status of the subjects was relatively high(6.34±1.82). 2. The degree of somatic symptoms of the subjects showed a significant difference in line with occupation, standard of education, menopause and the type of family. 3. Family related stress presented a significant difference in accordance with age and menopause. 4. Spousal support showed a significant difference in conformity to age, occupation, standard of educational and menopause. 6. The degree of health status of the subjects had the negative correlation with somatic symptoms and the family related stress and had the positive correlation with spousal support and sexual satisfaction. Conclusion: This study suggests that the somatic symptoms, family related stress, spousal support and sexual satisfaction might have the relationship of the perceived health status in the middle aged womens.
