This study was undertaken to investigate answers to the following questions. 1) What are the characteristics of aggressive behavior in psychiatric ward? 2) What is the nurse`s intervention to aggressive behavior? 3) What is the effective nursing approach of aggressive behavior in future? The data was collected by nurse`s observation record about aggressive incidents. The 17 aggressive incidents occured in psychiatric ward in a 13-month period. The data analysis was performed by typology in literature descriptively. The results are follows : 1) Almost all aggressive behavior occured in combination with disturbing behaviors. Disruptive behaviors many procede endangering behaviors. 2) The nursing intervention of aggressive behavior were , . were not appeared. These results suggest that the expecting factors of aggressive behavior should be identified and the nurses should be trained practical aggression management program.
