This study is purposed to identify the difference of self-efficacy between day hospital patients and psychiatric out-patients. Data was obtained from 25 subjects who are members of day hospital and 27 subjects, out-patients in psychiatric hospital. The period of data collection was from November, 24 to December 12, 1997. The results of this study was as follows ; 1. The day hospital patients had higher score of general and social self-efficacy than that of psychiatric out-patients(p<.01). 2. There were significant correlations between the period of treatment and general self-efficacy and social self-efficacy in day hospital patients(γ=0.33, γ=0.24, p<.05).
