의료서비스 간의 경쟁이 심화되면서 의료서비스의 선택과 관련된 소비자의 판단과 의사결정은 중요한 연구대상이 되고 있다. 특히 환자만족도(patient satisfaction) 연구의 대부분은 집단적 차원에서 어떤 요인들이 환자의 의사결정에 영향을 미치는가를 연구하는데 초점이 맞추어졌다. 그러나 개별 소비자의 의료서비스 선택에 관한 의사결정 과정에 대해서는 체계적인 연구가 미흡한 상황이다. 본 연구는 어떤 속성들이 개별 소비자의 의료서비스 선택과 관련된 의사결정에 영향을 미치는가를 분석함에 있어서 판단분석(judgment analysis) 기법을 적용하였다. 분석결과에 따르면, 무엇보다도 각 소비자들의 의사결정이 상당히 유사한 것으로 나타났다. 즉 판단정책(judgment policy)의 분석을 통해 소비자들의 의사결정 과정의 유사성을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 다중회귀분석을 기반으로 하는 판단모형은 소비자의 의료서비스 선택 전략을 설명하는데 유용한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 의료서비스의 선택에 있어 의사의 신뢰도와 능력이 가장 중요한 평가기준으로 확인되었다.

The medical care environment has been changing markedly toward an increasingly competitive delivery system. Although there has been heightened interest in health care quality in general from a customer`s perspective, a systematic approach about individual patient`s decision-making on the selection of medical service is needed. Under the circumstance, the purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of medical service attributes to individual patient`s decision-making on the selection of medical service using Judgment Analysis(JA) method. The result indicated that the judgmental processes that patients use to aggregate clinical information into selection decision could be analyzed and externalized in quantitative terms through JA. This implied that JA would provide a useful technique for externalizing customer judgment.
