국제마케팅활동의 성공여부는 다른 경쟁기업들에 비해서 얼마나 신속하게 현지 시장의 다양한 변화를 감지하고 그러한 변화에 적절히 반응할 수 있는 능력을 키우는가에 의해서 결정된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 수출시장에서의 성공적인 감지능력과 반응능력이라는 경쟁우위를 창출하고 궁극적으로 우수한 수출성과를 얻기 위해서 어떠한 노력이 요구되는가를 밝히고자 하였다. 특히, 수출시장정보의 효율적·효과적 활용과 관련하여 많은 관심을 받고 있는 조직학습이 이러한 경쟁우위에 미치는 영향과 선행요인을 검증하고자 하였다. 전체 국내수출액 중에서 높은 비중을 차지하고 있는 274개 수출기업을 대상으로 연구가설을 검증한 결과, 조직학습-시장 감지능력-시장 반응능력이라는 과정을 통해서 우수한 수출성과를 창출하게 되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 즉, 다양한 시장변화에 대한 이해와 그러한 변화에 대응할 수 있는 능력을 향상시키기 위해서는 조직학습이 원활히 이루어져야 하며, 이러한 일련의 노력은 궁극적으로 우수한 수출성과를 얻는데 매우 중요하게 작용한다는 점을 입증하였다.

To survive and prosper in a competitive global marketplace, the most important thing is that firms should strive to sense and respond continuously to opportunities and threats posed by changing environment. Given that high degree of environmental uncertainty, the efforts to boost these competencies are especially critical factors for a firm`s success in foreign markets. Many previous researchers have pointed out that organizational learning is an important determinant of market sensing and responding capabilities and it will provide resultantly superior performance. Since the importance of organizational learning` role have been recognized, various studies have been conducted in many areas like marketing, strategic management, and MIS. However, the relationships among organizational learning, competitive advantage, and export performance should be examined because the previous researches did not consider those variables simultaneously. This study tries to examine the impact of organizational learning on export performance via the competitive advantages which are market sensing and responding capabilities. For this goal, the authors investigated widely and deeply the related researches. These wide and deep examination of the previous studies made it possible for the authors to design a research model and to propose 10 hypotheses. To empirically test the proposed model and hypotheses with LISREL, we collected 274 Korean export firms` data. According to the empirical results, Korean export firms can get superior export performance by increasing the degree of organizational learning. Especially, organizational learning`s influence on performance is more positive when mediated by market sensing and responding capabilities. The impact of learning orientation, transformational leadership, and informational technology competency on organizational learning is also strongly supported. Based on these results, the authors provide a discussion and future research implications which can be helpful to future researches.
