한국벤처기업의 해외진출이 증가하고 있는 현 시점에서 해외진출의 결정요인을 확인하는 것은 벤처기업들에게 많은 시사점을 제공할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한국벤처기업이 갖는 해외시장환경과 기업가적 지향성 및 전략적자산을 주요 개념으로 고려하고, 하위 개별 변수들에 대한 벤처기업의 능력과 인식정도에 따라 해외진출이 결정됨을 확인함으로써 한국벤처기업의 해외진출결정요인을 명확히 하고자 하였다. 대덕밸리벤처와 수도권지역 벤처의 총 200개사를 대상으로 한 로지스틱 회귀분석의 결과에서는 R&D역량, 해외시장경험, 선행성 및 시장적대성이 한국벤처기업의 해외진출에 유의하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났는데, 그 중에서도 벤처기업이 갖는 R&D역량이 해외진출결정에 가장 큰 영향력을 보여주었고, 이는 기술중심적인 한국벤처에 있어 기업내부에서의 R&D투자가 가장 중요함을 의미한다.

Finding the determinants of the choice of foreign market entry by the Korean venture firms can be useful for the others at this time when they have been tried to go abroad. Overseas market environments, entrepreneurial orientation and strategic capabilities of Korean ventures are considered as main concepts in this study. We analysed 200 firms, which are composed of ventures in Daeduck Valley and Seoul Metropolitan Area, the results of the study show that R&D capability, experiences and competition in the foreign markets, and proactiveness are related to foreign market entry of Korean venture firms significantly. Among these four variables, R&D capability of venture firms is shown as the most affective variable explaining the very decision making. It means that the results of this study show the typical pattern of technology-based Korean ventures.
