본 연구는 우리 사회가 안고 있는 저출산·고령화사회에 대비한 교육의 필요성을 인식하기 위하여 초·중등학교 가정과 가정과학 교과서를 저출산·고령화사회 대비 학교교육의 목표와 내용 기준에 따라 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 저출산·고령화사회에 대비하기 위한 구체적인 교육적 방안을 마련하고 나아가 교육과정을 개정하는데 도움이 될 수 있는 기초적인 자료를 제공할 수 있을 것이다. 연구 방법으로 5-10학년의 가정, 11-12학년 가정과학의 교과서를 내용 분석법으로 분석하였다. 초·중등학교 가정은 내용체계에 따른 인간 존중, 인구, 가족, 복지의 4개 대영역 중 가족 영역의 비중이 가장 높았으며, 특히 중학교 가정에서는 인간 존중 영역 중 성평등과 관련된 내용이 많았다. 그러나 상대적으로 인구와 복지 영역과 관련해서 거의 다루고 있지 않았다. 고등학교 가정과학에서는 중학교 가정보다는 인간존중, 인구, 가족, 복지의 4가지 영역을 골고루 다루고 있었으나, 상대적으로 고령자와 관련한 교육은 소홀히 되고 있었다.

The purpose of the study were to analyze the contents of Home Economics and Home Economics Science textbooks on the ground of content system to prepare for the child poverty and aging society. Because we think many problems in the child poverty and aging society will be solved by school education. In this way, we can provide the concrete educational methods for the child poverty and aging society. And going one step forward, we will provide the fundamental materials for the new curriculum. For this, we analyzed the Home Economics textbook in 7-10th grade, and Home Economics Science textbook in 11-12th grade. Home Economics textbooks in 7-10th grade contain many contents related to the family domain and sex equality in man`s life and dignity domain. But the contents related the population and welfare domain lack in there. Compared with the Home Economics, the Home Economics Science textbook have a variety in contents related to the 4 domains except the aging.
