``꼬뮤니즘``은 인류의 역사에서 갖가지 상이한 형태들로 나타났으며, 특히 19세기 산업사회의 등장 이후 다양한 역사적 실험의 대상이 되어 왔다. 이 글은 최근에 등장한 (번역하지 않고 그대로 쓴) ``꼬뮤니즘``의 의미와 그 한국적 맥락을 짚어보기 위한 글이다. 오늘날의 의미에서의 ``꼬뮤니즘``은 가타리와 네그리의 만남과 네그리와 하트의 만남을 통해서 모양새가 만들어졌으며, 철학적으로는 들뢰즈의 영향하에서 형성되었다. 그리고 이 사상은 『제국』 (2000)에서 그 기본적이 가닥이 잡혔다고 할 수 있다. 이 저작에서 네그리와 하트는 맑시즘의 전통을 이어 꼬뮤니즘을 재건하고 있으며, 특히 들뢰즈의 철학, 푸코의 계보학, 이탈리아의 아우토노미아 운동 등 현대적인 성과들을 매개해서 새로운 형태의 꼬뮤니즘을 전개하고있다. 이 글은 이 꼬뮤니즘의 한국적 맥락을 다룬다. 여기에서 ``한국적 맥락``이란 『제국』이 한국에서 논의되고 있는 제양상을 뜻한다. 제국의 논지를 이어받고 있는 저자들과 비판적으로 독해하는 저자들의 논의를 살펴봄으로써, 새롭게 등장한 꼬뮤니즘이 한국에서 어떤 의미를 만들어내고 있는가를 살펴보려 했다. 이러한 논의는 시야를 넓게 잡을 경우, 한국사회에서 이루어진 기존의 다양한 정치철학적 논의들을 전제하고서, 또 한국적 맥락을 형성하는 다양한 사회적 현상들 / 집단들과의 관련성을 검토하면서 이루어져야 한다. 그러나 이 글은 우선 『제국』이 한국에서 독해되고 있고 논의되고 있는 대표적인 양상들만을 논의하는데 국한된다. 따라서 이 글은 현대 한국사회의 정치철학적 지형도에 있어 매우 일부분을 다룰 뿐이다. 그러나 이 일부분은 21세기의 정치철학의 전개에서 비중 있는 의미를 담고 있다고 보며, 이 글은 그러한 의미가 정확히 무엇인지를 일차적으로 점검할 것이다.
Today`s communism is different from the existing ones. It is represented by Empire and Multitude, written by Toni Negri and Michael Hardt. In Korea, Empire has been translated and read by many scholars on these days. This article aims to elucidate the main contents of this book; to indicate the main problems it includes; to make some tentative conclusions. Negri and Hardt tried to rehabilitate the communism originated from Marxism, but a new one mediated by thecontemporary contributions, such as the ontology of Deleuze, the genealogy of Foucault, and the Italian autonomia movement. This article treats the Korean context of this communism. Here what the Korean context means is the various modes of discussionswhich Empire has provoked. Examning the assertions of the readers, on the one side pro it, on the other side against it, this article tried to find out the meaning that this new communism has created in Korea. Taking more broad point of view, such an investigation must presuppose the various existing discussions on political philosophy in Korean society on the one hand, and examine the various correlations of social phenomena or groups in Korean context. But it will be delimited by the representative scholars who have read and discussed about Empire. So it treats just one part of the broad field of political philosophy in Korea. But this part may be regarded as the major part of 21th century development of political philosophy, and this article may give an answer to this question: what is the proper meaning of the new communism in Korea. This article is divided into three parts. First part treats what the Empire says, second what are the problems in that book, third the way which we can have to continue it.
