이 논문은 현재 시행되고 있는 대학별 논술고사가, 통합교과형 논술이라는 지향점을 구현하고 있으며, 대학 입시를 위한 평가도구로서의 요건을 갖추고 있는지를 검토해 보고자 하였다. 특히 학교 현장의 논술교육을 위한 맥락과 국어교육과의 관련성을 중심으로 살펴보고자 하였다. 2008학년도 입시부터 시행될 통합교과형 논술에 대한 접근은 각 대학들이 시행한 모의고사를 통해 이루어졌다. 모의고사는 본고사와는 다르지만 차수에 따른 비교가 가능해서 그 성격과 문제를 파악하기에는 더 수월한 측면이 있다. 모의고사를 통해 드러난 주요 대학들의 논술고사는 ``통합교과형 논술``이라는 개념에 대한 명확한 설정이 되었는지, 평가도구로서의 대학별 정체성이 분명하게 드러나는가에 대한 의문을 갖게 한다. 경우에 따라서는 기존에 실시해 온 논술과 그 성격이 크게 다르지 않으면서 외적인 요인 때문에 ``통합교과논술``이라는 개념을 사용하고 있다는 판단을 하게 한다. 제시문의 선정과 평가 방식에 대한 정보는 제공되지 않고 있는데, 유형에 따라서는 평가의 객관적 타당성이 문제될 소지가 많다고 판단된다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 문제의식에서 몇 가지 제안을 하고자 하였다. 그 제안은 다음과 같다. 1. 통합교과형 논술이라는 개념에 대한 생산적 접근이 필요하며 이를 위해 관련 학회를 중심으로 학제간 연구가 필요하다. 2. 교육 주체들의 수월성과 편의성을 우선적으로 고려할 수 있는 입시 제도로서의 논술고사에 대한 정보를 제공할 필요가 있다. 공교육의 내실화를 위해서도 정책적으로 이루어져야 한다. 3. 대학별 고사 후 각 대학별 고사에 대한 학회 차원의 분석 또는 평가 자료를 작성하여 제공할 필요가 있다. 대학들의 경우에는 출제와 채점 등을 위한 위원회가 존재하지만 객관적인 평가를 하기에는 어려운 측면이 있는 만큼 관련 학회들이 연합하는 차원에서 검증 장치를 마련하고 그 결과를 관련자들에게 제공할 필요가 있다.

This article described a productive proposal for the essay-type examination in university entrance examination based on o the subject-integration, particularized by each universities. The proposals as follows： 1. A prescribing the notion about "an essay-type examination based on the subject-integration" is necessary to the candidates for the university entrance examination and the educational establishments. The prescribing demand the concrete and substantive property. For the task, a inter-scholarship approaches between the korean language education and the other scholarship is necessary. 2. The information about the essay-type examination is to be provided to the subjects of examination. This task is a matter with the university and the relevant government ministries. Without providing the information, the bad influence on the public education is could not be reduced. 3. After the work of entrance examination, researchers accomplish the role of verifying the objective validity of the essay-type examination in university entrance examination based on the subject-integration, particularized by each universities. Without the verifying system or process, a plan for the desirable education is very difficult. Because in our society, the influence of university entrance examination is the most powerful factor in educational field. In this matter, the unified approaches of academy is an absolute work. 4. The researcher of korean language education must execute the role of approaching to the essay-type examination in university entrance examination based on the subject-integration, systematically and continually. Because the essay-type examination is essentially derived from the testing of candidate`s language ability. Especially, to the principles of making questions and marking is academically checked by the researcher of korean language education.
