이 글은 문학 토의 교수 학습 모형을 구안하되, 특히, 서사적 대화의 원리를 원용하여 학습자의 자발성에 기초한 문학의 심층 이해와 학습 공동체가 중시되는 수업 문화를 탐색하고자 하였다. 토의 수업은 문학적 이해의 특징을 가장 잘 살릴 수 있으며, 또한 기존의 지식관이나 교수 학습자의 관계를 재구성할 수 있는 매우 의미있는 수업 모형이다. 그러나 이는 다시 문학적 사고의 고유한 특징으로 재구성될 필요가 있는데, 그 이유는 일반 토론, 토의 모형의 형식주의적 절차가 다소 도식적으로 작동될 수 있기 때문이다. 문학적 이해는 과학적 이해와는 달리, 독자의 삶의 경험 연관에 의해서만이 생생한 경험으로 남을 수 있으며, 또 처음의 인상이 여러 경로의 탐색에 의해 확장, 보완되는 방식으로 지속적으로 변모되어 나간다. 이러한 특징을 살리기 위해서는 서사적 대화를 학습자가 자신의 이야기와 텍스트의 이야기를 공동으로 탐색하면서 만들어가는 수업이 효과적이다. 그것은 자기 삶의 경험을 텍스트 해석의 자원으로 활용하고, 또 텍스트의 해석을 통해 자기 삶의 경험을 재해석할 수 있도록 하며, 또 스토리 특유의 감염력을 통해 다른 학습자들의 이야기에 공감하면서 다양한 가능성을 탐색할 수 있도록 한다. 이 수업을 위해서는 심리적으로는 학습자를 사고 주체로 권한 부여하며 진정성을 강조하여 개성적인 목소리를 드러내면서도 다른 사람에게 검증받으려는 사회적 책임감이 존중되어야 한다. 또, 사회적 측면에서 교사의 역할은 학습자들의 이야기를 이끌어내면서도 다양한 이야기가 교류, 소통될 수 있는 점을 강조해야 한다. 또, 기호적으로는 텍스트의 모호한 수수께끼, 불확정된 부분을 존중하면서도 임의적인 태도로 자기 의견을 제시할 필요가 있다.

The task of this essay is to develop the literature discussion method. Especially, this essay tries to apply the narrative conversation for the literature discussion method. The response of literature is constructed with media, the pattern of interaction and context. If we apply the narrative conversation for the literature discussion method, teacher can make student construct dependant meaning making and deep inference in relation to personal experience. And we realize the value of the learning community. The psychologic principle of develop literature discussion in base of narrative conversation is to empower the student, to keep authenticity and take the role of spectator. The social principle of develop literature discussion is to keep dialogic relation in students and student with teacher. And it is important to make learning community to improve the quality of literature response. Teacher should provide the diverse narratives in different position and interest to extend the meaning-explore. The sign principle of develop literature discussion is to emphasize the openness and uncertanity or text.
