The travelers who have been to the Qing Dynasty in the late 18th century faced with unfamiliar attitude of people in Qing Dynasty toward female artists. They publicly accepted and actively supported artistic activities of women in their family, and even they were proud of the activities. These attitudes of people in Qing Dynasty reflected new attitudes toward female artists which have been formed in mainly southern area since the end of Ming Dynasty. The new attitude of literary men in Qing Dynasty toward the public artistic activities of women was transferred to the Joseon Dynasty through direct or indirect route. And it was collected as meaningful information and reorganized as a new knowledge gradually. At last, it led to a change in attitude toward artistic activities of women in Joseon Dynasty. At this time, records on the artistic activities of women increased, and the publication of literary collection of women dramatically increased in Joseon Dynasty. Under this trend, there was a change in the attitude of men in Joseon Dynasty who were affected by the attitude of people in Qing Dynasty. In other words, men`s discourse were changed due to the effect of culture of Qing Dynasty. This paper traces this process with specific several cases in the 18-19th century.
