This article deals with two chief subjects: first, it clarifies Levinas`s the concept of evasion, one of his core concepts in his earlier thought; second, it examines how the concept of evasion extends and develops in his philosophy. Through this process, we will be able to understand the importance of De l`evasion, one of his works published in 1935, explaining the concept of evasion in detail. This research will prove that `evasion` does not only function as one of the several concepts of Levinas` philosophy but also is a crucial device internalized in his overall speculation as well as the departure of his thought. Moreover, this paper will also facilitate your understanding on `paradox,` which is the context itself where evasion from Being or Ego occurs and is one of the primary methods and structures of developing his philosophy as well. Levinas` philosophy does not make a stage switch over to another directly but sets up a paradoxical situation of each stage which has to be passed in order to go into the next one. From this point, we can clearly see his form of thought of paradox. This study will explore the very characteristics of this his speculation.
