This study is on Sizo[時調] in the age of Enlightenment. Modern human experienced baptism of industry and science in the 20C. This experience showed in the Sizo of Deahanmeailsinbo[대한매일신보]. This essay composited the discourse of time. Firstly, This essay researched time in the Sizo of Deahanmeailsinbo in order to aspect of modern human`s consciousness. Human in the Middle Ages had the cycle consciousness of nature, but modern human had the un-cycle consciousness on the world. Secondly, This essay searched time in the Sizo of Deahanmeailsinbo in order to aspect of modern human`s cognition. Human in the Middle Ages did not extend life space, but modern human experienced the extension of life space, because of newspaper and journal publication, and traffic advance. Thirdly, This essay studied time in the Sizo of Deahanmeailsinbo for the discourse of nationalism. Modern human thought an individual to nation who is to die for own`s community and an individual is equivalent to own`s nation. So the Sizo in the age of Enlightenment is shown the change of modern society, modern human`s consciousness, and modernity.
