The purpose of this study is to explore Greene`s moral vision Greene deals with human spiritual liberation and salvation of the soul according to moral dimension rather than religious logic. In The Power and the Glory, through the whiskey-priest`s death Greene indicates true martyrdom and the priest`s fabrication. Greene believes that the priest should share human love and practice humanity through direct suffering in human life. In conclusion, the characteristics of Greene`s moral vision are as follows: First, the image of God is embodied in human relations which are honest and true to oneself and other people. Secondly, by emphasizing the nature of sin and the homogeneity and causality of good evil, Greene asserts new moral law rather than dogma. Thirdly, Greene attaches importance to the realities of life rather than the future life. Greene regards the moral sense assuming pity, human love and humanity as fundamental elements of religion. Greene`s moral vision is a return to an original moral sense of Christ.
