이 연구는 초등학교 국어교과서 보완 교재인 CD 개발을 중심으로 하여 국어 교육에서의 미디어 자료 개발에 대해 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 먼저 이 연구에선는 `언어` 자체가 매체이므로 `매체 언어`라는 용어는 적절하지 않다고 보고, 복합 양식 언어라는 의미를 담고 있는 `미디어 문식성`이란 용어를 사용하는 것이 알맞다고 논의하였다. 다음으로 초등학교 미디어 자료 개발의 문제점으로 교과서 집필자와 CD 집필자의 별도 운영되는 점, CD 자료가 듣기·말하기 교과서에 한정하여 개발되는 점, 교과서에 나온 자료만 제공한다는 점, 별도 CD-롬 형태만으로 학교에 보급하기 때문에 제한된 사람들만 접근이 가능하다는 점, CD 자료 개발 예산이 부족하다는 점을 들었다. 그리고 이에 대한 해결 방안으로 교과서 집필자들이 CD 집필을 할 것, CD 자료를 듣기·말하기 영역 외에 다른 영역의 매체 관련된 내용을 반영할 것, CD 자료에 참고 자료를 많이 제공할 것, CD-롬 형태 대신에 웹 페이지에 CD 자료를 탑재할 것, 미디어 자료(CD) 개발하기 위한 예산을 충분히 확보할 것을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to explore development in media material of Korean Language Education centering on development in CD, which is the complimentary teaching material of Korean textbook for elementary school. First of all, `language` itself is media, thereby having seen the terminology called `media language` as inappropriate, and having discussed it to be proper to use terminology called `media-literacy,` which has a meaning of communication in multiliteracies language. Next, as problems about development in media material for elementary school, it took a point that textbook author and CD author are operated separately, a point that CD data is developed by being limited to listening·speaking textbook, a point that offers only material shown in textbook, a point that only the limited people can get access because of being supplied to school just in the separately CD-ROM form, and a point that is short of budget for development in CD material. And, as solutions on this, it suggested what textbook authors write CD, what reflects contents related to media in other spheres other than the listening·speaking spheres as for CD material, what offers many references to CD material, what mounts CD material on web page instead of the CD-ROM form, and what fully secures budget for developing media material(CD).
