본 논고는 16세기 호남한시의 표현상의 특징으로 지적할 수 있는 남성작가의 여성화자시에 주목하였다. 이에 대한 근본적인 출발의 이유는 지금까지 16세기 호남문학의 특징을 논하는 자리에서 `여성화자`에 대한 논의가 끊임없이 있었지만, 전체 작품을 두고 체계화가 이루어지지 않았다는 점에서이다. 그리고 논문의 궁극적인 목적을 호남한시에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓히자는 데에 두었다. 본 논고에서 파악한 16세기 호남한시 중 여성화자 시문은 대략 총 34제 38수정도인데, 이 중 다수의 작품이 당시풍(唐詩風)다운 면모를 보여주고 있다는 사실에서 당시풍(唐詩風)과의 관련성을 배제할 수는 없었다. 본 논고는 16세기 호남한시 여성화자의 유형을 `여성화자의 자기 동일시`, `상상공간의 모의 화자`, `현실공간의 實在 화자` 등으로 나누었다. 이렇게 나눈 기준은 작품의 배경을 알려주는 표지 유무를 따진 후 그 배경을 적극 존중하여 작품을 바라보았고, 둘째 작품의 공간적 배경과 여성화자의 현실성 여부 등을 따졌다. 지금까지의 많은 연구자들이 16세기 여성화자 시문을 한 가지로 묶어 몰개성적인 것으로 생각하는 경향이 있는데, 사실은 그렇지 않다. 16세기 호남한시의 여성화자 시문을 보더라도 작가별로 나타낸 시문의 양태와 여성상 등이 각각 다름을 알 수 있는데, 시사적인 측면에서 간과할 문제가 아니라고 판단된다.

This study focuses on poetry of women speakers written by men writers which is a feature of Chinese poetry of Honam area in the sixteenth century. There has been continuous discussion on women speakers, but no organized results on it have not been obtained. Therefore this study ultimately aims to deepen understanding of Chinese poetry . As there are a total of 38 poems with 34 themes containing female speakers in Honam area at that time and many of them are Tang poetry style, it is suggested that they are associated with Tang poetry style. In this study, types of female speakers in Honam Chinese poetry are categorized into `identification of female speakers with writers`, `simulated speakers in imagined space`, and `present speakers in real space.` The criteria of such categorization are presented as follows: background of the poetic works which was actively respected according to presence of marks, spatial background and reality of the speakers. Previous studies have considered poems containing female speakers as impersonal, but it is not true. The poetic works of the sixteenth century have different aspects and female images according to writers, which should be carefully considered in an aspect of current affairs.
