이 글은 들뢰즈의 스피노자 해석을 참조해서 신체들의 기쁜 만남과 그것의 사회 철학적 의미를 살피고자 한다. 들뢰즈는 역량(potentia)의 틀로스피노자의 존재론을 `실천철학`으로 재해석한다. 그는 니체를 참조하여 도덕적 대립과 윤리적 차이의 구별함으로써 자연을 `선`과 `악`의 대립을 벗어난 역량의 차이로 해석한다. 이런 자연의 질서에서 마주치는 신체들의 관계들 가운데 `기쁜` 만남은 각 신체의 역량을 증대시킨다. 들뢰즈는 수동성을 벗어나서 능동성을 얻는 윤리학의 과제와 관련해서 먼저 `기쁜 감정들을 최대화` 함으로써 능동적 기쁨에 접근하는 바탕을 마련할 수 있는지를 탐구하고 기쁨의 윤리학을 실천 원리로 제시한다. 이것은 윤리적 차이를 고려하여 자연의 필연성을 바탕으로 지혜와 자유를 추구하는 기쁨의 길을 `선택`하는 것이다.

This article examines how Deleuze foregrounds Spinoza`s joyous bodily encounters and how he interprets it into ontology of difference. Deleuze reinterprets Spinoza`s metaphysic into `practical philosophy` in terms of potentia and expression. This reinterpretation makes it possible to understand necessary order of Nature as immanent one. Deleuze distinguishes ethical difference from moral opposition based on Nietzschean genealogy of morals, which makes it possible to interpret nature not as opposition between `good` and `evil`, but as difference of potentia. Bodily encounters on an immanent plane are classified into two categories in terms of increase or decrease of potentia: joy and sadness. Joyful encounter occurs when one appropriates the power of another to oneself, thereby increasing one`s potentia and strengthening the power of existence. Deleuze`s practical philosophy makes it a goal to reach active joy out of passive passion. For that goal it explores the ways to the active joy by making `a maximization of joyous passion.` Most of Spinoza scholars are critical toward focusing on joyous passion. Unlike them, Deleuze starts a theoretical adventure to allow the new mode of existence for the numberless finite aspects which cannot get out of passion. Therefore we should consider ethical difference and choose between sadness that is limited to ignorance and subjection based on the necessity of nature and joy that pursues wisdom and freedom This article also evaluates the above issues and points out how these issues are related to the new problematics.
