이 연구의 목적은 2009 개정 고등학교 국어과 교육과정의 개정 배경과 중점 내용을 알아보고, 앞으로의 과제를 제시하는 데 있다. 국어 교육과정은 고등학교 국어 선택과목 간 선택 비율이 지나치게 불균형하여 이를 정상화, 내실화하여 균형적인 학습을 도모해야 한다는 국가교육과학기술자문회의 제안에 따라 개정되었다. 2009 개정 고등학교 국어 교육과정은 2007년 고등학교 국어 교육과정을 최단기간에 재구조화하였다. 앞으로 2009 개정 고등학교 국어 교육과정을 적용하며 운영 실태를 조사하여 문제점을 추출하고, 고등학교 국어 교육과정에 대한 심층적인 기초 연구를 충실히 하여 국어교육의 본질을 추구하는 방향으로 차기 교육과정을 준비하여야 한다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate on the background and the main contents of the 2009 Revised High School Korean Language Curriculum and to suggest the further study for developing a new curriculum. The Korean Language Curriculum has showed a exceed unbalance in the view of the optional ratio between the Korean Language optional subject, and it has been pointed out the problem of Korean Language education system. Due to promote for the balanced learning with the normalization and substantiality, the 2009 High School Korean Language Curriculum is revised based on suggestions of Presidential Advisory Council on Education, Science & Technology. The 2009 High School Korean Language Curriculum was reorganized. the 2007년 Korean Language Curriculum by the shortest time. With investigation for the applied state of 2009 Revised Korean Language Curriculum in high school, it is required to find the problem of the revised curriculum and to prepare for further study to seek the essence of Korean language education with in-depth basic research.
