1949年以前, 新文學爲主體的中國現代文學學科生成過程複雜而艱難. 造成這種局面的原因中, 中國現代大學理念對其的影響不容忽視. 通過曆史回顧可知, 1949年後中國現代文學學科的中興是意識形態的選擇. 我們必須認淸學科形成的曆史演變, 才能조准學科定位, 同時在文學硏究與學科權力形成的張力中조到平衡.

As the main body of modern Chinese literature, the Chinese New Literature was born in the Chinese modern universities, however, the process that how the New Literature becomes one discipline of the university discipline system proved quite complicated and difficult. Even after it has won a position in the discipline system, before 1949, its status is still very marginal. Because of the power idea of university of modern China, the New Literature is looked as a superficial social fad and can`t be taught as advanced knowledge for the professionals. However, after 1949, due to the ideology, modern Chinese literature discipline becomes to occupy a dominant position in the discipline system.
