본고는 문법 평가가 실제 교수-학습과 연계된 학습-지향 평가가 되어야 한다는 관점에서 문법 교육과정과 실제 문항의 검토, 실제 문항에 대한 기존 연구자들의 논의를 종합하여 문법 평가의 방향을 제안하고 더 나아가 문법 평가 문항 개발의 새로운 방향을 제안하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 제2장에서는 문법 능력과 문법 평가의 관련성을, 제3장에서는 문법 평가에 대한 기존의 논의를 바탕으로 한 문법 평가의 방향을, 제4장에서는 문항 개발의 실제를 주로 논의하였다. 우리가 제안한 문법 평가의 방향은 국어과 문법 영역의 교육과정의 목표와 관련하여 문법 능력의 측정이 중심이 되어야 한다는 점, 교수-학습을 위한 내용 체계를 고려하여 문법 능력을 지식 능력, 탐구 능력, 활용 능력 등으로 나누어 평가하는 것이 적절하다는 것이다. 아울러 실제 문항의 개발에 있어서는 지식 능력, 탐구 능력, 활용 능력 각각의 개발 시에 유의점을 고려하여 문법 능력을 제대로 측정할 수 있는 다양한 문항 개발의 필요성을 강조하였다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate relation of the grammatical competence and the direction of grammar assessment in Korean grammar education. The basic assumption of this study is that grammar assessment should be assessment on grammatical competence. In chapter 2, we deal with relation of the grammatical competence and the grammar assessment. In chapter 3, we deals with the direction of grammar assessment for grammatical competence. In chapter 4, we deal with methods of making questions for measurement of grammatical competence. To explain these issues, we give careful consideration to institution of curriculum, textbooks and so on. As a consequence, we comprehend the direction of grammar assessment in Korean grammar education.
