본 연구는 외국인을 위한 한국어 수업에서 초급 학습자를 대상으로 유의어의 의미를 제시하는 바람직한 방법을 찾고자 한 것이다. 그 예로 형용사 ‘아름답다’, ‘예쁘다’, ‘곱다’의 사전적 의미풀이를 비교해 보고, 실제 한국어 교재에서 사용된 용례를 찾아서 분석해 보았다. 그 결과 감각 기관을 통한 느낌의 서술에 차이를 보였으며, 서술되는 대상에도 차이를 보였다. 실제 수업에서는 ‘사진 자료’를 이용해 이러한 차이점을 강조하여 의미를 제시하고 문장으로 만들어 볼 것을 제안하였다. 이것은 한국어 교육 현장에서 학습자들이 유의어를 동의어로 이해하는 경우를 줄이기 위해서 초급 단계부터 의미 차이를 고려한 의미 제시가 이루어질 필요가 있음을 강조한 것이다.

This study aims to seek desirable method in presenting synonymous words for foreign beginners in Korean language learning. The study takes 3 adjectives like `ahrumdapda,` `yepuda,` `gopda,` compares each 3 different meaning in dictionary, finds their actual usages in textbooks, and then makes an analyze. Among 3 words, there are some differences in the way of expressing their feelings from sense organs and some differences in the objects expressed. In actual class, it can be suggested that the teacher show each different word using `picture classroom materials` to emphasize the exact different meanings then let the students compose some sentences using these words. In this study, in order to make foreign Korean language learners less confused in synonymous words, it is suggested that there is a need for presenting each different exact word on the basis of their different meanings from the beginning.
