본고는 외국인을 위한 한국어 한자교육의 효과적인 방안을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 외국인을 위한 한자교육에 대한 기존의 연구들을 비한자문화권 학생들을 대상으로 하는 연구로 제한해 검토해본 결과, 한자교육 방법에 대한 이론적인 연구는 있었으나 실제 사례를 중심으로 하는 연구는 많지 않았다. 이에 본고는 비한자문화권인 터키 에르지예스대학의 학생들에게 한자교육을 했던 경험을 바탕으로 한 사례를 소개함으로써 바람직한 한자교육의 방안을 모색해보려 한다. 한자교육은 한국어 어휘의 확장과 심화를 위해서 필요하며, 학문 연구를 목적으로 하는 학생들의 전공서적 탐독을 위한 기초 실력 배양을 위해서도 필요하다. 터키 대학의 한국어문학과에서 한자 과목은 전공필수로 지정되어 있는데, 에르지예스대학교의 경우도 마찬가지이다. 에르지예스대학교에서는 중급 이상의 한국어 실력을 갖췄다고 판단되는 3학년과 4학년 과정의 학생들이 2년 동안 한자 과목을 수강한다. 한자를 가르칠 때는 한자 구성의 원리부터 지도하며, 부수에 대한 이해를 시킨 후, 옥편 찾는 방법에 대한 지도를 하여 이를 반복 연습한다. 한자는 읽을 수있는 정도만이 아니라 정확히 쓸 수 있도록 지도하는데, 필순에 맞는 쓰기지도를 강조한다.

This paper aims to suggest efficient method for teaching korean chinese characters to foreign students. For that reason, examined the researches related to teaching korean chinese characters to foreign students, targeting to non-chinese character culture. And then reconsidered the necessity of teaching korean chinese characters. Teaching korean chinese characters is needed to extend korean vocabulary. It helps to understand korean vocabulary easily and exactly. Furthermore, it is needed to the students, who want to set their heart on further learning in their own fields. For those students, teaching korean chinese characters assist to familiarize with upper level vocabulary. This paper focused on Erciyes University students in Turkey. When we teach korean chinese characters, it`s ideal to explain the principle of korean chinese characters`s formation, firstly. Then, teach how to use chinese character`s dictionary through possible three ways. It builds up students` self studying ability. When we teach korean chinese characters writing, it`s efficient to teach writing order. If it is repeated, students can write korean chinese characters easily.
