사회·문화적 담론과 대중 콘텐츠에 있어서 극양식은 폭발적으로 늘어나고 있다. 그러나 우리 문학 안에서는 첫 희곡작품이 발표된 이래 한 세기가 다 되어감에도 그 존립에 대한 불안은 여전하며 극문학 교육도 사정은 크게 다르지 않다. 시, 소설에 비해 희곡 교육이 취약했고 이것이 희곡에 대한 관심부족과 창작품 빈곤이라는 악순환으로, 이제는 극 텍스트 전체에 대한 이해부족으로 이어지고 있다. 극양식의 범람과 극문학교육의 위기라는 이율배반적인 양상은 교과서와 교육방법론을 다시 생각하게 만든다. 이러한 관점에서 본 논문은 스토리텔링을 통한 극문학 교육방법론을 모색해 보았다. 스토리텔링에는 이야기로 하기라는 화법, 생산된 텍스트, 소구력 있는 작술법 등의 여러 의미 층위가 있다. 각 층위에서 교수자와 학습자가 다양한 활동 -줄거리 스토리텔링, 장면 낭독의 스토리텔링, 스토리텔링 분석, 장면 낭독 등 - 을 하는 가운데 극문학의 수용과 생산이라는 교육적 가치를 효과적으로 수행할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다

The dramatic style has been growing explosively in terms of socio-cultural discourse and popular contents; however, even though it has been nearly a century since the first dramatic play was presented in Korean literature, anxiety remains about its existence and the reality of education about dramatic literature has not been much different. Compared with education about poems and novels, education about drama has been poor, and this has caused a vicious circle of a lack of interest in drama and the poor production of creative works. Now, this reality has led to an insufficient understanding about the entire drama text. The antinomic phase, namely, the flooding of dramatic style and the crisis of education about dramatic literature, makes us think again about textbooks and educational methodology. In this regard, this paper sought the educational methodology for education about dramatic literature through storytelling. Storytelling involves various semantic strata such as a speech spoken in the form of a story, produced text, and appealing writing method. While a teacher and a learner conduct various activities - synopsis storytelling, storytelling with the reciting of a scene, an analysis of storytelling, and the reciting of a scene at each stratum - it was discovered that they were able to realize effectively the educational value, that is, the acceptance and production of a dramatic play.
