한국의 행정학과 정책학 학문분야에 사회네트워크 분석이 도입되어 연구에 이용된 지 10여년이 되어가고 있다. 그러나 방법론으로서 사회네트워크 분석이 행정학 및 정책학에 얼마나 유용하게 적용될 수 있을까에 대한 논의는 상대적으로 적은 편이다. 또한 사회 네트워크 분석의 방법론적 한계점으로 지적되는 단순히 기술적인 또 다른 방법론이라는 문제 역시 제기되고 있다. 이러한 상황아래에서 본 연구는 사회네트워크 분석이 행정학과 정책학의 학문적 발전에 기여하기 위하여 자리매김할 수 있는 곳이 어디인가를 이론적a로 논의하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 다음의 세 가지 측면에서 사회네트워크 방법론에 대하여 논의하고자 한다. 첫째, 지금까지 행정학, 정책학에서 사회네트워크 분 석율 적용한 연구들을 분석함으로서 현재 행정학에서 사회네트워크가 어떻게 이용되고 있는지를 살펴본다. 둘째. 사회네트워크 분석에 대한 전반적인 소개로서 방법론의 측면에서 사회네트워크 분석이 어떠한 의미를 갖는지를 살펴본다. 셋째. 사회네트워크 분석이 향후 적용되었을 때, 행정학. 정책학의 학문적 발전에 기여할 수 있다고 판단되는 분야들에 대하여 논의한다. 이러한 논의를 바탕으로 결론부분에서는 사회네트워크 분석이 적용될 때. 주의하여야 할 점들에 대하여 논의한다

It`s been almost 10 years since social network analysis (hereafter SNA) has introduced in the field of Public Administration and Policy in Korea. However, there has been few discussion about how SNA would be beneficial to this field. Along with it, a couple of researchers raise a question that SNA is just another method to describe social phenomenon. In this situation, this study would like to search for where is the best place for SNA to locate in the Public Administration and Policy. In order to do it, this study presents three points to discuss. The first section reviews prior literatures which applied SNA to see how SNA has been used in Public Administration and Policy research in Korea. The second part presents theories regarding to SNA and its methodology. The final section discusses the academic areas where SNA could be successfully applied in the future.
