In this paper, the Chinese Taoism in the viewpoint of western values and its representative meaning is discussed. The harmony of classic Chinese literature and the way of rational and logical thinking in the western culture can provide new broad viewpoints and new inter-disciplinary complementary exchanges in academy. In the course of this research, I introduced the academic values and cultural historic position of the translation of “ Lie Xian Zhuan(列仙傳)” which was not known in Korea yet. For the purpose of this, I summarized the existing researches on “ Lie Xian Zhuan(列仙傳)” in east asian academia and considered the Chinese studies in France. In the main discourse, I discussed the point of views different from existing researches in China, Korea and Japan with 5 issues such as control of water and fire, a fan, fur, shoes and red color. As a conclusion, I found that these 5 issues are deeply related to the keyword of immortality and flying. The cultural anthropological meanings and symbolities are also found based on the approaches different from the conventional approaches in East Asia.
