본 연구는 학교폭력의 피해경험을 가진 여자고등학생의 자아존중감과 역량강화를 위한 집단프로그램의 효과를 검증하기 위하여 실시되었다. 연구대상은 D시의 P여자정보고등학교에 재학 중인 학교폭력 피해 여고생 20명으로 실험집단과 통제집단에 각각 10명씩 무선 배치하였다. 실험집단은 주1회 90분씩, 총 8주 동안 프로그램에 참가하였으며, 통제집단은 별도의 처치를 하지 않았다. 자료 분석은 실험집단과 통제집단의 사전 동질성 검사를 위해 독립표본 t-test를 실시하였고, 실험집단과 통제집단의 사전-사후-추후에 실시한 자아존중감과 임파워먼트 점수의 변화를 알아보기 위하여 반복측정 일원배치분산분석(Repeated Measure ANOVA)을 실시하였다. 그 결과 실험집단은 프로그램 참여 후 통제집단보다 자아존중감과 임파워먼트에서 유의미한 점수 변화를 나타내었다. 이 같은 결과는 임파워먼트 프로그램이 학교폭력 피해 여고생이 문제에 직면했을 때 자신의 존재감을 인식하고, 자신의 강점과 자원을 활용하여 문제에 대처할 수 있는 힘이 강화되었음을 암시한다. 따라서 학교폭력 피해 여고생을 위한 임파워먼트 프로그램은 그들의 자아존중감과 역량을 강화시키는데 효과가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 마지막으로 연구결과를 바탕으로 학교나 사회복지현장에의 적용점, 연구의 의의 및 연구의 한계를 제시하였다.

This study aimed to verify the effectiveness of group program for improving self-esteem and empowering the high school girls, victims of school violence. For this, 10 of victims (n=20), in P girls` vocational high school in the city of D, were alloted in control group and 10 in test group. The test group participated in the group program once a week for 8 weeks. Any particular intervention was not given to the control group. To test the homogeneity before/after intervention and check the score changes, the data were analyzed by t-Test and Repeated Measure ANOVA. The results were as follows: the test group showed significant change in the score. This implied the empowerment program reinforced the capacity of the victims to cope with the school violence situation utilizing their strength and resources. The empowerment program was verified to effect on enhancing the school victims` self-esteem and empowerment. The limitations of the study were discussed, as well as the application of the study results and recommendations for additional exploratory research.
