우리 사회가 빠른 속도로 다문화 사회에 접어 들어감에 따라 다문화 가정 자녀들의 한국어 교육에 대한 여러 가지 프로그램의 개발이 절실해졌다. 그런데 흔히 ‘다문화 가정’이라는 큰 틀에서 논의를 전개해 나가지만, 실제로 다문화 가정 은 형성된 배경이 매우 다르기 때문에, 보다 효율적인 교육적 처치를 위해서는 다문화 가정 자녀들을 세분화할 필요가 있다. 이에 본고에서는 부모 및 자녀의 한국어 유창성 정도에 따라 다문화 가정 자녀들의 유형을 분류하였고, 한국어 및 한국 문화에 미숙한 다문화 가정 자녀들을 대상으로 논의를 진행시켜 나가고자 한다. 다문화 가정 자녀들이 우리 문화나 사회에 적응하지 못하는 가장 큰 이유 중의 하나는 바로 한국어의 습득이 잘 이루어지지 못하였기 때문인데 이는 단지 한국어를 유창하게 잘 하지 못해서만은 아니다. 언어는 사회의 반영물이므로, 언어를 유창하게 잘 한다는 것은 우리 사회에 대한 이해가 그만큼 높다는 것을 의미하는데, 다문화 가정 자녀들은 한국 문화를 낯설어 한다. 한국 문화를 입문하는 좋은 제재로서 본고에서는 ‘전래동화’를 제시하였다. 전래동화는 입에서 입으로 전해오는 옛이야기로, 그 원형이 분명치는 않으나, 다른 나라의 전래동화와 공통적인 화소가 많아 유사한 경우가 많다. 또한 이야기 구조나 문형이 반복적으로 사용되고, 의성어와 의태어가 이야기 주인공의 상황 속에서 자연스럽게 제시되는 점, 한국 문화를 나타내는 표현이나 어휘들이 많이 사용되는 점 등은 다문화 가정 자녀들이 한국 문화를 이해할 수 있는 중요한 요소로 작용하기 때문에, 한국어가 유창하지 못한 부모를 둔 다문화 가정 자녀에게는 좋은 한국어 교육 제재로 이용될 수 있을 것이라는 의견을 제시하였다.

Korea society has changed toward multi-cultural society very rapidly, so it has to be develop that Korean Language education program for children multi-cultural family. And it is very different that making the reason of multicaltural family. Therefore it must be classify according to how parents speaking Korean in fluency. The necessity of educating Korean culture helps the foreign learners to have more interest and understanding which cultivates intercultural. At the same time, it heads for the higher levels of communicating skill. This study propose that it is useful in Korean language education for multi-cultural children using Korean folk tale. It has four reasons that teaching Korean Language education for multi-cultural children using Korean folk tale. first, Korean folk tale is similar with folk tale in other country. Second, it used to sentence repeatly. Third, a onomatopoeic word and a mimetic word used in Korean folk tale frequently. The last, multi-cultural children can easily analyze and understand the archetypes of Korean culture, values, and understandings reading Korean folk tale.
