본 논문은 ``숭고``에 관한 칸트의 논의를 탈(반)칸트적 해석을 통해 인식능력들의 조화와 균형을 통한 진리 규정에서 벗어나 인식능력들의 균열과 그 균열의 틈새에서 삐져나오는 존재 진리의 다른 국면들에 대해 논하고자 한다. 칸트가 숭고를 통해 이성이 상상력에 대해 우월한 능력이며, 이는 인간이 인격성을 지닌 이성적 존재자이기 때문임을 주장하고자 하였다. 하지만 상상력이 지성에 따라 종합하는지 자유롭게 종합하는지에 따라 대상이 합법칙적으로 표상되는가 아니면 합목적적으로 표상되는가가 결정되고, 대상에 대한 합목적적 표상은 합법칙적 표상(학적 진리)으로는 드러낼 수 없는(은폐되어 있는) 존재의 다른 국면을 드러낸다. 숭고의 경우, 상상력은 지성과 이성으로부터 완전히 자유롭다. 상상력이 지성과 이성으로부터 벗어날 때, 일순간이나마 초험적 진리가 드러날 수 있듯이, 일체의 법칙이나 이념으로부터 벗어날 때, 우리는 그 자체로서의 우리들을 만날 수 있지 않을까? 만약 그렇다면 우리는 인간론이나 사회론에 대해 새로운 길을 모색할 수 있을 것이다.

In this essay I will try to discuss with the another aspect of Being which is inferred through the post(anti)-kantian interpretation about Kant` sublime theory. In general most of kantian philosophers understand the relation of cognition-powers in the sublime-judgment as the harmony. But I argue the real relation is unharmony and strife. Kant maintains through sublime that reason is superior capacity to imagination(sensibility). This means Human is rational Being because he(she) has his(her) own personality. But according my construction it reveals different ontological aspects that whether the power of imagination synthesizes the intuitions by guide of understanding(or reason) or freely without it. The former provide the legality and the later purposiveness which is covered by legal presentation. In the case of sublime imagination is free from understanding and reason. It makes us to know the transcendent truth even very short time. Similarly we can meet each other as ourselves when we are free from social rule and ideology. If so, from the different interpretation of sublime we can fumble for the another way about human and society.
