이 글의 목적은 분단 트라우마의 성격을 해명하고 이를 바탕으로 분단 트라우마를 치유하는 데 요구되는 윤리성을 살펴보는 데 있다. 남북 관계의 이념적 갈등과 가치관의 대립을 극복하기 위해 우선적으로 선행되어야 할 것은 분단의 상처를 치유하는 것이기 때문이다. 분단 트라우마라는 용어는 분단이 일상을 살아가는 사람들에 미친 정서와 상처를 가리키는 상식적 의미로 통용될 뿐 학문적인 개념으로 정착되지 않고 있다. 따라서 분단 트라우마를 분단체제 및 분단서사와 연관시켜 그 개념적 의미를 명확히 하고자 하였다(2, 3장). 또한 분단 트라우마는 그 자체로 극복을 요구하는 실천적 지향성을 지니고 있기 때문에 치유에 관한 논의가 필요하다. 이 글에서는 일상의 삶 속에 체화된 분단 트라우마 치유의 가능성을 모색하기 위해 고통의 감수성과 삶의 현장을 중심으로 그 윤리적 바탕을 문제제기 수준에서 다루어보았다(4장).

The purpose of this paper is to explain nature inherent in the trauma of division and, based on this, to investigate ethics required to heal the trauma of division. Because healing the trauma of division is preceded by first, in order to overcome conflicts of ideology and values appeared in the relationship between North and South Korea. The term, the trauma of division, is widely used only as the conventional meaning designated emotions and scars of the division to the ordinary people of daily life, does not been settled as academic concepts. Therefore, in this paper, I tried to clarify conceptual meaning about the trauma of division in association with the epic and system of division (Chapter 2, 3). In addition, discussion about healing the trauma of division is needed, as it implies practical orientation required to overcome by itself. In this paper, in order to explore the possibility of healing the trauma of division embodied in everyday life, I dealed with the ethical basis of healing with focusing on ethical sensitivity of the pain and fields of life at the aware level of problems(Chapter 4).
