The last ten years has witnessed several researches being conducted on "modern Chinese literary works related to Korea or Korean people" in the midst of interest from Korean and Chinese scholars and producing some results. Despite the achievements by Korean and Chinese scholars, however, one cannot help noticing one problem with the researches of such a kind; it is a stagnation in discussions due to lack of newly discovered works. While the genre of novels has hardly suffered such a tendency thanks to relatively active research efforts, other genres seem to be affected by the problem much. Recognizing the problem, the investigator focused on "discovering Huaju scripts related to Korean people" for the last few years and successfully discovered a handful of works lately. According to the investigator`s research, there are total 12 Huaju scripts related to Korean people; they are 《Ahn Jung-geun(安重根)》, 《Gaoliwangguoji(高麗亡國記)》, 《Shanhelei(山河淚)》, , and , , , , 《Jinhuazhige(槿花之歌)》, and 《Chaoxianfengyun(朝鮮風雲)》. Of the 12 Huaju scripts related to Korean people, only two(《Jinhuazhige》and 《Chaoxianfengyun》) have been discussed in Korea with the remaining excluded from discussions. Thus the investigator set out to continue discussions about this type of work, which have been in stagnation for a while, by arranging the main stories and characteristics of the nine "Huaju scripts related to Korean people."
