이 논문은 문학교육에서의 어휘교육의 문제를 살펴보기 위한 논문이다. 우선 문학교육에서 상정하는 어휘 능력은 일반적으로 생각하는 어휘 능력의 구조에 허구적 세계와의 관계, 정확성과 적절성을 바탕으로 한 예술성과 고유성, 작가-독자와 화자-청자의 복합적인 의사소통 맥락, 그리고 다양한 문예이론이 더해져야 한다는 점을 밝혔다. 그리고 문학교육에서의 어휘교육은 결국 모어 사용자들의 머릿속에 이른바 ``민족어 사전``이라고 할 수 있는 어휘들의 체계를 갖추는 것을 지향으로 삼아야 한다고 보았으며, 그러한 지향에 도달하기 위해 ``고유어의 보존과 활성화``, ``공동체의 경험과 정서 공유``, ``맥락를 고려한 창의적 어휘 사용``등을 교육 내용을 삼을 것을 제안하였다.

This paper focuses on the relation between lexical education and literary education. I elucidate the additional components for lexical competence in literary education; relation to fiction, artistry, context of communication and various theories of literature. I suggest that the ultimate objective of lexical education in literary education should be to make learners have the so-called ``national language dictionary`` as the system of lexicon in the brain of them whose mother tongues are Korean, and the contents are preservation of native words, sharing experiences and emotions of community, creative using of words with consideration for the context.
