본고에서는 1950년대 모더니즘 시운동을 주도했던 ``후반기`` 동인 중 독특하게 초현실주의적 시세계를 구현하려 애썼던 시인 조향의 시와 시론을 중심으로 1920~30년대와는 차별화되는 영화적 글쓰기의 새로운 층위를 분석해 보았다. 조향은 영화 시나리오에서 새로운 시 쓰기의 가능성을 발견하고, 이러한 실험적 작품에 ``영화시``(Cine-Poeme)라는 장르적 명칭을 부여하였다. 그가 주창한 영화적 시 쓰기는 전에 볼 수 없었던 독특한 양식적 실험을 전제로 하는 바, 이런 점은 1920~30년대 시인들뿐 아니라 동시대 다른 시인들의 그것과 확실히 다른 층위의 영화적 시 쓰기를 보여준다. 또한 초현실주의 시의 방법론으로서 자동기술법과 데빼이즈망 기법을 채택하면서 자연스레 아방가르드 영화의 몽타주 기법을 자신의 시에 원용하는 모습을 보여주기도 한다. 1920~30년대 시인들이 소극적인 차원에서 영화적 시 쓰기를 시도했다면, 조향은 영화와 시의 유사성, 시나리오와 현대시의 유사성에 집중하여 ``영화시``(Cine-Poeme)라는 새로운 형식의 장르적 실험을 시도하였다. 그리고 적극적이고 의식적인 자세로 아방가르드 영화의 방법론을 응용한 시 쓰기를 시도하였다. 그는 자신이 구현하고자 한 초현실주의 시의 작품적 성가를 이루는 데 가장 적합한 시도로 영화적 기법을 활용한 양식적 실험을 시도한바, 이러한 점이 그를 전시대 및 동시대의 시인들과 차별화한다고 보았다.

I studied about the 1950`s Poetry of Cho Hyang the most unique poet of the ``Hubangee`` coterie in this thesis. Cho Hyang is the one of very famous surrealist in Korea. He wrote a lot of surrealistic poems using the method of Automatism and Depaysement that the typical technique of surrealism. And he found the very new way to write the Cine-Poeme. He was thinking that is most important to make the pure image whether it is a poem or film. So he was interested especially about the avant-garde film and wrote some poems were influenced by those films and he named them Cine-Poeme. Cho Hyang believed the poet`s ability would be concerned with the skill of montage like to edit a kind of avant-garde film. He was very recognized the similarity between the Depaysement and Montage. Especially, He believed that the scenario and the poetry are similar. So he wrote some poems was same form with the scenario. There were various terms for making films for example C.U(Closed up), L.S(Long shot) etc. in his poems the Cine-Poeme. He is really different poet from the other poets of 1950`s and 1920~30`s modernist. Anyway, in those poems, he tried to express about the contradiction of those day`s Korean society after the Korean War. This is the very only try to write poems were concerned with films.
