New material of music doesn`t mean just matter but formed matter. It means that matter contains itself forms. Therefore the use of new material in the music signifies the emergence of the new musical form. Adorno hailed the music of Schoenberg (especially his twelve-note system) as the most dramatist revolutionary event in the history of music, for it seemed to have destroy the tonal system on which the traditional music was founded. But the materials of twelve-note system are not the real ones completely demarcated from the traditional musical convention. We can tell it from the fact that Schoenberg didn`t abandon the tonality in general and seek the pan- tonality. We can find the authentic new material in the electronic music which deals with music in the micro level of the individual notes instead of the macro level such as tonal system, key, chord, measure etc. The nosy sounds synthesized by the electronic instruments can not be systemized by the traditional technique, but requires a totally new musical technique.
