18·19세기 조선의 여성들은 남성 중심의 가부장제의 일반화로 인하여 사회적 지위가 매우 위축되어 있었으며, 은일가사의 작가인 향촌사족은 관직에서 소외되어 고향에 머물면서 신분과 가문유지에 힘을 기울여야 하는 처지였다. 남성중심 사회에서의 여성, 관료사회에서의 향촌사족은 위축된 상황에 처해 있었다는 점에서 공통점이 있다. 그런데 화전가에 나타나 있는 여성들의 목소리는 매우 활발하고 당당한 반면, 은일가사에 나타나 있는 남성들의 목소리는 매우 회고적이고 위축되어 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이런 목소리를 통해서, 18·19세기 향촌사족들이 현실을 외면하고 이념과 관습에 침잠함으로써 당시 향촌 사회의 침체된 상황을 짐작할 수 있게 해 주는 반면, 여성들의 목소리에는 남성들을 압도할 만한 활력을 지니고 있어서 가문을 지탱해 가는 원동력이 여기에 있었음을 느끼게 해 준다.

Social status of the Joseon women withered by the generalization of the man-centered patriarchy very much in the 18·19th century. And Hyangchonsajok(鄕村士族) who is the writer of Eunilgasa(隱逸歌辭) was the situation that must incline the power to maintenance of the writer`s social position and the family`s social standing while staying at the hometown not to be able to go into the government official. The woman in the male central society and Hyangchonsajok in the bureaucracy has a common point at the point that dealt with the situation that withered. By the way, I was able to confirm that the voice of women appearing in Hwajeonga(花煎歌) was very active and confident, while the voice of the men who appeared in Eunilgasa was very retrospective and withers. Because Hyangchonsajok turn reality away and get into the idea and custom, we may guess in the situation that Hyanchonsahoe(鄕 村社會) was depressed at the time. On the other hand, we feel that here is the driving force that supports family`s social standing, because the voice of women has vitality to overwhelm men.
