This thesis is to analyze the figurative context of key expressions including words after the patternization of them relevant to practical dancing in the Shijing(詩經). During the process of this analysis, ancient classics pertaining to dancing, figurative materials and rock engravings excavated and the latest study of dancing have been reviewed, referred and balanced. The primitive moves of dance had been passed down in the folks and recorded refractedly in the Shijing(詩經). The primitive and folks` dance was traceable although it had been selected, omitted and altered according to the intent of court rulers since the times of Zhou. As a result, the meaning of transfigured dance moves is subsequently analyzed on the version of posterial annotation.
