The recent textbook policy is oriented to ``Diversity and Creativeness.`` If so, we need to critically review if the certification of middle school and high school Korean textbooks did accomplish the task such as diversity and creativeness. In this sense, it was tried to discuss ``2011 Revised Korean Language and Literature Curriculum and the Direction of Korean Textbook Certification`` from this perspective. There are several problems in textbook certification reviewing the system against ``2007 Revised Korean Language and Literature Curriculum.`` They include that the certification standards were applied mechanically, overly protective perspectives were applied and quantitative rather than qualitative evaluation results were publicized. To solve these problems, we need to establish a new direction for textbook certification in the future. First of all, we need to discuss the textbook development method according to the new revision scheme to revise from time to time when it is needed and diversify the certification methods. Next we need to apply the achievement standards inclusively and flexibly not mechanically. Finally, we need a management system to manage the quality of certified textbooks all the time. We need to think about to establish and operate ``Textbook Quality Management and Evaluation Website`` to solve the various problems arising from the application of textbooks and improve the quality level. We need to agonize over the certification system allowing all time evaluation by various subjects of education and improvements of the quality.
