2008년 U-City 법의 제정 이후 정부는 기술개발, 법제도 개선 및 지속적인 예산지원을 수행하였고 다수의 지자체 역시 U-City 계획을 수립하였으며 U-City에 대한 관심도 증대 되고 있는 추세이다. 하지만 실제 U-City 건설이 진행됨에 따라 문제점도 나타나게 되는데 가장 많이 지적되고 있는 문제점 중 하나가 정부주도의 U-City 서비스 제공으로 인해 실제 시민들이 체감 가능한 U-City 서비스 제공이 효과적으로 이루어지지 못하고 있다는 것이다. 따라서 정부 주도로 모든 U-City 서비스를 제공하겠다는 생각에서 벗어나 현재 도시 관리 차원에서 수집되고 있는 다양한 U-City 정보들을 민간에 제공하고 민간차원에서는 이를 활용하여 시민들이 체감할 수 있는 U-City 서비스들을 만들어 내는 것이 바람직하다. 본 연구는 민간에서의 U-City 정보 활용을 위한 기반연구로서 U-City에서 생산·관리되는 U-City 정보 목록을 도출하고 잠재적 수요자인 민간업체를 대상으로 U-City 정보 활용도를 조사하여 효과적으로 U-City 도시정보 유통을 할 수 있는 방안을 모색하는데 있다. 지금까지 연구가 U-City 정보에 대한 이론적인 분류에 중점을 두었다면 본 연구는 지자체에서 현재 수집되고 관리되고 있는 U-City 정보를 기반으로 U-City 정보 활용 방안을 연구하였다는데 의미가 있다.

The government has accomplished technology development, law system improvement, budget supporting, and so on since the enactment of U-City law in 2008. Various local governments have worked out ubiquitous city plans and ubiquitous city concept has attracted much attention recently. However, issues are revealed as progress being made in ubiquitous city constructions. One of the important issues is there are not many U-City services which citizen really need, To solve this problem, providing various information which is collected from U-City to private sector for creating private-oriented U-City services is important. This research is the basic research for using U-City information in private sector. This research lists U-City information and derives the order of priority for U-City information in private sector. There is no research about classification of ubiquitous information with real data but only research about theoretical classification. The contribution of this research is to list and classify U-City information which is currently collected from U-City.
