본 연구의 목적은 건의문의 장르 관습을 밝히고, 고등학생의 건의문 쓰기 양상을 살펴 건의문 쓰기의 지도 방안을 모색하는 것이다. 건의문은 필자가 개선이 필요한 문제 상황에 대해 의견을 제안하여 독자로 하여금 문제를 해결하도록 행동 변화를 요구하는 글이다. 건의문의 필자는 문제를 발견하고 그를 해결하고자 하는 사람이며, 독자는 문제 해결 능력을 가지고 있는 사람이다. 건의문은 처음 부분에서 받을 사람, 인사, 자기소개, 글을 쓴 동기와 목적을, 가운데 부분에서 문제 설명과 청원, 청원의 근거를, 끝부분에서 인사, 날짜, 필자 서명을 쓰는 구조로 이루어져 있다. 건의문은 통일성과 타당성을 고려하여 내용을 선정하고 조직해야 하며, 건의문의 표현은 간결성과 명료성, 정중성을 갖추어야 한다. 고등학생들의 실제 글쓰기를 분석한 결과, 학생들은 건의문의 구조를 정확하게 이해하지 못한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 내용 조직에서는 타당성을, 표현에 있어서는 명료성과 정중성을 갖추는 것에 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 앞서 논의한 결과를 바탕으로 건의문 쓰기의 지도 방안과 지도상의 유의점을 제안하였다.

The purpose of this study is to find teaching methods by identifying the genre customs of suggestion text and by looking into manifestation of high school students`` suggestion text writing. Suggestion text is a writing suggesting writer``s opinion about problems needed to be improved for readers to change their behaviors to solve the problems. Suggestion text is a writing to solve the problem or improve the situation when the writer thinks it necessary to improve it. That is, the writer of suggestion text is the person who finds problems and tries to solve them and the reader has the ability to solve them. Suggestion text consists of three parts - introduction, body and ending. The introduction part includes the receiver of the text, greetings, self-introduction and the purpose of the text. In the body, there are explanations about the problem, asking and reasons of the asking. Lastly, in the ending part there are concluding remarks, dates and the writer``s signature. We should select and organize the content considering unity and validity in writing suggestion text and the expression should be concise, clear and polite. According to the analysis of the high school students`` composition, it turned out that they didn``t understand the structure of suggestion text. And they have difficulty in making the content valid and expression clear and polite. Therefore, we should focus in these parts in teaching students how to write suggestion text. According to the results of the arguments, teaching methods of suggestion text writing and useful cautions for teaching are suggested.
