이 연구는 어휘 교육의 중요성을 인식하고`` 양적 어휘 능력과 질적 어휘 능력을 향상시키기 위하여 의미 관계를 중심으로 한 어휘 교육 방법을 모색 하는 것을 목적으로 한다. Trier(l934)의 장이론, Lyons(1977)의 수형도, 성분분석방법, 망이론, 머릿속 사전, 어휘망, 의미망 등은 어휘가 의미적으로 긴밀하게 연관되어 있음을 밝힌 연구들이다. 즉 어휘 교육은 의미 관계를 중심으로 이루어지는 갓이 합리적이다. 초등학교 현장에서의 현 교육 실태를 보완하고 체계적인 어휘 교육을 도 입하가 위하여 국립국어원(2009)의 ``21세기 세종 계획`` 말뭉치의 빈도 순위를 바탕으로 어휘 목록을 선정하고 의미 관계가 비교적 명확하게 드러나는 이동 동사를 중심으로 어휘 교육 방법을 살펴보았다. 사전적 의미 학습 단계에서는 글의 맥락 속에서 어휘의 의미를 학습하고 감각에 의존한다. 이동 동사의 경우 시각적인 어휘 학습과 ``명령하기 놀이``를 작용하여 학습할 수 있다. 의미 관계 학습 단계에서는 다른 어휘와 의미적 상관관계를 학습한다. 이 동 동사는 낱말카드를 이용한 동의어·반의어 관계 학습이 가능하다. 문장 구조 학습 단계에서는 서술어를 중심으로 필수논항을 취하는 문장을 만들면서 어휘의 결합 관계를 학습하는 단계이다. 연어 교육은 물론 문장성 분으로 기능하는 명사, 조사, 부사 등의 학습도 함께 이루어진다.

The purpose of this study is to find the method of teaching vocabulary based on semantic relation in order to improve quantitative and qualitative lexical competence. There are a tot of research that the meaning of words are closely linked with the other; lexical field, componential analysis, network theory, and mental lexicon, etc, So focused on the relationship between word meaning training takes place is reasonable. This study introduced a method for teaching vocabulary laying stress on movement verbs. First in stages of leaning the dictionary meaning, students learn the meaning of words by picnics or ``play to command``. Second, in stages of learning the meaning relation, students learn the vocabulary of paradigmatic relation as synonymy and antonymy. Third, in stages of learning the sentence structure, students learn the vocabulary of the syntagmatic relation.
