香港非華語學生中文敎材發展的理念與實踐

香港政府多年來一直致力推動不同種族及多元文化的和諧共存, 尤其近年來, 非華語學生(主要指母語幷非월語的南亞學生)在港人數大幅增加, 如何幇助他們盡快融入香港社會, 適應香港的敎育環境, 提高其中文學習能力, 成爲香港社會各界廣泛關注的焦點。香港大學敎育學院獲得香港敎育局支持, 推行「非華語學生中文學習支援計劃」(Student Support Programme for NCS Students), 派員於課餘到校支援非華語中學生學習中文。령一方面香港大學一些敎師也積極硏發敎材和敎法, 旨在提高非華語學生活學活用的中文語言能力。本文將首先介紹現居於香港的少數族裔的背景, 探討這些學生學習中文的困難, 繼而詳述『中文八達通』(‘Accessing Chinese’)及『高中中文』(‘Advanced Chinese’)這兩套敎材系列的設計理念和特點, 最後輯錄使用該系列敎材的老師對書本的評價, 以及敎材未來的發展展望。

For many years, the government aims to promote multi-cultural harmony among ethnic minority groups in Hong Kong. In the recent years, Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) students (mainly refer to South Asian students whose mother tongues are not Cantonese) increased in great number. People in Hong Kong are very much concerned in finding ways to help them to integrate into mainstream society, to enable them to adjust to Hong Kong education system, and to help promote their Chinese learning ability. On one hand, some teachers in the Faculty of Education in the University of Hong Kong offered Student Support Programme (SSP) to send tutors to assist NCS Students learning Chinese at after school hours. On the other hand, they developed teaching materials to help enhance the Chinese language skills of the NCS students. The paper introduces the background of the ethnic minority group in Hong Kong, explores their Chinese learning difficulties, describes the rationale and features of two sets of teaching materials developed, namely ``Accessing Chinese`` and ``Advanced Chinese``, and reports the comments of the teaching materials from teachers.
