이 글은 소설교육 차원에서 소설의 환상성을 어떻게 읽을 수 있는지, 그리고 환상성에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 하여 학생들의 서사적 정체성 성찰이 어떻게 표현될 수 있는지를 논의하였다. 이를 위해 환상성의 문학적 가치와 소설교육적 의의를 살펴보았다. 그리고 김중혁의 <무용지물 박물관>, <발명가 이눅씨의 설계도>와 박민규의 <그렇습니까? 기린입니다>를 대상 텍스트로 하여 그 소설들에 구현된 환상성이 어떠한지를 살펴보았다. 그런 다음 이 소설들에 구현된 환상성을 읽는 과정에서 학생들의 서사적 정체성이 어떤 수준에서 성찰될 수 있는지를 밝혔다. 학생들은 비가시적 환상의 세계가 실제 세계를 전복하는 힘을 갖고 있음을 이해하고, 그러한 비가시적 세계가 현실의 리얼리티를 벗어난 것이 아닌 또 다른 현실로 작용함을 인식하여 자신의 정체성을 시간 속에서 지속적으로 변화시킬 수 있다.

This paper examined how we read the fantasy of novel, and how students` narrative identity is expressed. For this, the researcher examined the fantasy worth and the reader`s reading about the fantasy of novel, examined how the theme represented ``the being not me`` and ``me`` are embodied in Kim Jung Hyek`s , and Park Min Kyu . And then, examined how the students` narrative identity is expressed in a words and phrase level, a sentence level, a ethical practice level, in a understanding and interpreting process about these novels. In a understanding process about the fantasy of novel, students understand that invisible fantastic world has a power upsetting the real world, can continuously change their identity in a time.
